where’d they go?Posted on February 23rd, 2008 @ 1:25 pm
I suddenly had the urge of visiting sites of people who commented here a year ago.

http://luved.net/?p=114#comments
One thing I noticed is that most of their sites are long gone. Lol. Well there are about a handful of them still online and here I am, thinking that mine was one of those few still online (and guilty of updating only about once a year, yes i’m exaggerating it, or more likely not updating at all) ![]()
But there are also few I still admire. midheaven.org. I’ve known that site for years now. As far I as I can remember, it’s one of the first I’ve frequently visited when I just started blogging. Another one is simply-precious.net. How old was that site? 4 years? I can’t remember. But yes, I really do admire that considering how frequent the author blogs.
To those planning to achieve as much as they have, I dare ya. Don’t you just miss the old days. lol.
I’m looking for people to link exchange with as well.

It’s always interesting to go back and see who’s site is still open and being updated. I think it’s amazing how many sites close within a year or two. I’ve had my domain since 2003, and have no plans to close it anytime soon. ^^

Heya Pat! I’m so sorry I haven’t commented for so long.
I guess it takes a lot to stay dedicated to one site for a long time. I don’t think I would ever voluntarily close down my website.

hi ate :)
i also admire those whose blogs really last for years… and are still being managed. Ang sarao siguro ng ganun, yung 4 years na yung domain mo and namamaintain mo pa din… ^_^

I often go through old posts and comment on sites that have commented on mine and I notice the same thing! I love rediscovering sites I used to go to a lot, though, that’s an awesome feeling.

Hehe, I know what you mean about people closing their sites, etc! Yeah, I am one of the few that stays open for a looong time, and A LOT of people are surprised by it. Hehe. And this particular doman has been up for 3 years now, but my site has been online for almost 6 years now. Heheh.
But yes, thank you for plugging me! =)
Oh, and like Janelle, I would love to do a link exchange with you! =)

I’ve done that a few times. It’s crazy, how quickly sites disappear. Nine times out of ten now, I just assume that the site is gone, even though mine is 4 years old in September, lol.

I really do miss a lot of those older websites, nothing today can compare to what they were then! :)

I didn’t realise simple precious was still online, wow! That’s a very long time to keep a site up and the same domain too. I’ve had websites for 8 years now and always blog and update them but never the same name! This name I’ve had for three years now but I took a long time away from it at one point!
I like your new layout, although it may not be overly new – it’s new since I last visited anyway heheh. Pretty!
I’ll exchange links with you? I always visit when I can find the time, love your blogs etc :)

I’ve done that too where I’ve looked at old post comments to look at old sites… but I find the same thing. A lot of those sites are GONE!
Or maybe they were right to grow out of it lol…

I haven’t been blogging long. Even my previous (first) site was only opened in June 2006. I hope to have my blog open for quite awhile.
P.S.
We can exchange links if you’d like.

Yeah, I did sort of the same thing. I had a site about two years ago, and I kept the html files and looked at my old affiliates and 99.9% of them were long gone. Most websites have a very short lifespan, apparently.
